Evergreen Ensemble will make its debut performance at the National Folk Festival this month with a program called the New Albion Music Project. The music comes from the Scottish-Australian collections of the National Library of Australia and features virtuosic arrangements of Scots tunes by Edinburgh fiddlers, Tasmanian strathspeys played on baroque violin, beautiful songs from the Hebrides, baroque opera, and 19thC Australian piano music.
The recently-recorded album, “One Hundred Days Away”, will be available as a ‘festival-special’, hot off the press! Its official launch through the ABC will take place later this year.
