Emily-Rose & The Wild Things is a kaleidoscope dream of prog folk, where songwriting meets world jazz whilst shaking hands with folk fiddle and drinking in a film score. The listener is bathed in intricate, relevant lyrics of weight and beauty, underpinned by profound but constantly fresh acoustic and electric worlds.
ARIA nominated front-woman Emily-Rose Sarkova, is one of Australia’s most vivacious musical chameleons. Wielding her dexterous piano fingers across keys and synths, her voice weaves a golden web of warm supple words. Joined by one of Australia’s leading improvisers on violin Chris Stone, multi-instrumentalists Nick Henderson and Luke Chapman on bass and guitar, and topped off with the virtuosic grooves of Abby Constable’s drums, Emily-Rose & The Wild Things are one of Australia’s most exciting and original bands.
Their debut album ‘Upon These Open Skins’ was finalist in the 2023 Art Music Awards for Best Jazz Work, and their 2022 Australia wide tour saw performances hailed as ‘the highest of artistry’.
