Emily-Rose is a versatile musician who trained as a classical pianist however is equally at home with jazz, tango & folk music. She plays piano, piano accordion, bandoneón, sings and composes for many projects based in Sydney, Australia. Emily-Rose’s repertoire ranges from classical sonatas to jazz standards, Bulgarian folk songs and Argentine tangos. Emily-Rose is a graduate from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music with a Bachelor in Piano Performance and also holds a performance diploma with honours from Saint Cecilia School of Music. She has also spent a year of study on scholarship in Germany at the Freiburg Hochschule fur Musik.
Emily-Rose is also a trained argentine tango dancer and currently runs Sydney Tango House for dance & music with her partner Refik Unluer. She has studied with some of the top maestros including Moira Castellano and Gaston Torelli.
Her main musical projects are focused on world/jazz group Chaika, tango quintet Tángalo and classical duo with soprano Susie Bishop. She has also played for various groups including 3 time Aria award winning group Monsieur Camembert, Australian Brandenburg Orchestra, The Marais Project, Baby et Lulu and The Klezmer Divas.
Emily-Rose is also a highly experienced teacher, with students gaining top marks in exams and winning many awards in competitions. See her teaching page HERE.
